Build with Armattan 7″ Chameleon Ti Frame

Here is the new build up of  7″ Chameleon. After flying with the F40’s for a few months with great success, I decided I wanted a little more stator. The F40’s did well with a lighter LR build keeping efficent at hover and cruise, but calling for more throttle and power quickly gullped the amps, and the power curve would flatten out quickly. This also left little room for battery options. My findings were topping out with an 1800mah for a weight/fly time comprimise, getting almost 10 mins.

Enter the Hyperlite 2408.5 1622kv & HqProp 7x4x3’s –

Fearing too much of a load on the 35a individual esc’s and looking for a weight comprimise for the heavier motors, I opted for the Hobbywing 4in1 45a esc. Trading out sub 30g motors for 47g ones with the esc trade as well only gained me 18g to the dry weight. But the power increase is unbelievable! With a heavier 2200mah 6s GNB lipo and more aggressive HQ 7″ 3 blades, bringing my AUW up just over 100g what it used to be, it hovers at 7 -7.5 amps – .5-1 less than before, cruising at 10 amps before was about 35mph, now 45mph, and the ground drops faster than my 5″ on punch-outs. I have never seen 199a on my current meter!
This build I believe leaves little room for improvment. I wall have the 1w TBS vtx soon, and a buzzer maybe. All I feel like I have left to toy with is different batteries and capacities. Hovering at 22-23% throttle has be thinking I could carry a 2700mah comfotable and push a 15 min flight. Updates to come
Thanks for checking out my pride and joy.
